Zhang Li is a professor and PhD advisor at Beijing Normal University. Zhang’s monographs include Before Floating to History’s Surface, Mirror Image Sisters, Keeper of the Low Fire, and Mass Soliloquy; she has also published the essay collection, A Stranger’s Beautiful Intentions. Zhang is the recipient of the Tang Tao Young Writers’ Award and the Best Chinese Essay Award; her work has been included in the Ten Most Influential Books List. She is a member of the China Writers Association’s Theory Committee, and a researcher for the National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature, and the committee for the Mao Dun Literature.
